Itogon Benguet- The municipality proudly celebrated its achievements in the 2024 Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index (CMCI) during the flag ceremony on February 17, 2025. The awards, announced during the 11th CAR CMCI Recognition Ceremony on December 11, 2024, recognized the municipality’s excellence in various categories.
The municipality secured top spots in key areas of competitiveness, ranking 1st place regionwide in Resiliency, 2nd place regionwide as the Overall Most Competitive municipality, 3rd place regionwide in Economic Dynamism, and 1st place regionwide in Innovation among 1st-2nd class municipalities.
During the flag ceremony, Mayor Bernard Waclin expressed his gratitude to the local government officials, employees, and community members for their collective efforts in achieving these milestones.
The CMCI, conducted annually by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), evaluates local government units based on key indicators such as economic dynamism, government efficiency, infrastructure, resiliency, and innovation. These recognitions affirm the municipality’s commitment to sustainable development and progressive governance.
