A heartfelt appreciation for Mr. Willy Cornel and his dedicated team from the LGU-Itogon.
During an unexpected roadside incident at Baguio Gold Street, Mr. Cornel and his team showed remarkable kindness and quick action in assisting Romeo C. Mendiola, a stranded driver, in Baguio Gold Street. Their resourcefulness, teamwork, and selflessness reflect the core values of the LGU-Itogon under the leadership of Mayor Bernard Waclin.
In a letter sent to us, it says:
“Dear Itogon LGU Team,
I am writing to formally express my deepest gratitude to your staff members under the leadership of Mr. Willy Cornel for their exceptional kindness and assistance during an incident earlier today.
While descending from Alpa Ville Subdivision this morning, my vehicle and their truck converged near the small bridge at Baguio Gold Street. Believing I had sufficient space to reverse, I began maneuvering my vehicle but unfortunately miscalculated, causing the right rear wheel to slip into a roadside ditch.
Without hesitation, Mr. Cornel and his team exited their truck to assist me. They not only remained calm and resourceful but also took the initiative to approach nearby residents to borrow hydraulic jacks and wooden planks necessary to safely extricate my vehicle. Their professionalism, quick thinking, and willingness to go above and beyond turned a stressful situation into a testament to human compassion.
Their actions exemplify the highest standards of kindness, volunteerism, and selflessness—qualities that undoubtedly reflect the values fostered by the Itogon Local Government Unit. Such conduct speaks volumes about the leadership of Mayor Bernard Waclin and the supportive environment your organization cultivates.
Please extend my heartfelt thanks to Mr. Cornel and his crew for their extraordinary help. May the Itogon LGU and its dedicated team, under Mayor Waclin’s exemplary leadership, continue to inspire and serve as a model of community spirit.”
