208 eligible residents of Itogon have received financial assistance through the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program.
The cash aid, amounting to Php 5,000, was distributed in a payout activity organized by the Office of Senator Raffy Tulfo, Raffy Tulfo In Action (RTIA) Northern Luzon, and the Office of Congressman Eric Yap, in collaboration with Mayor Bernard S. Waclin and Itogon Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office. The payout was held at the Municipal Gymnasium on July 12, 2023.
The AICS program aims to provide immediate relief to qualified individuals or families who find themselves in crisis situations. It caters to indigent, marginalized, poor, or disadvantaged individuals, offering assistance in various forms such as medical, educational, burial, or transportation aid.
During the payout activity, Mayor Waclin expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Senator Raffy Tulfo and his regional team for their instrumental role in delivering much-needed assistance to Itogon. Mayor Waclin also shared his vision of bringing government projects and services closer to the people, ensuring that support reaches those who need it most.
Also present to witness the activity is Councilor Norberto Pacio, chairperson of social services.
Representing Senator Tulfo, Tommy San Gabriel advised the beneficiaries to utilize the financial assistance wisely. This admonition highlights the importance of using the aid effectively to address their immediate needs and improve their circumstances.
Furthermore, RTIA project coordinator George Punasen emphasized that this cash assistance from the government is made possible through the initiative of Senator Raffy Tulfo. Punasen also underscored that the funds come from the taxes contributed by hardworking taxpayers.
