The new set of officers of the People’s Law Enforcement Board (PLEB) of the Municipality of ITOGON took their oath of office before Mayor Bernard S. Waclin, witnessed by Municipal Local Government Operations Officer (MLGOO)Julie Malig, on Thursday, June 8, 2023 at the Mayor’s Office, Poblacion, Itogon
The re-organized PLEB is headed by Councilor Atty. Jodea R. Acay-Camuyot, together with its members Tinongdan Punong Barangay Edwin Atumpag, Imelda Amancio representing the academe sector, and Engr. Michael Tauli and Jessie Tayaban representing the community.
The primary role of the PLEB is to investigate and hear cases involving allegations of abuse committed by members of the police force.
By operating under the supervision of the Local Government Unit (LGU), the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), and the National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM), the PLEB acts as a check and balance mechanism for ensuring the integrity and accountability of the PNP.
