This Dengue Awareness Month, the Itogon Municipal Health Office, through its Municipal Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (MESU) program, is taking a vibrant and impactful approach to community health. Ms. Rossan Balisto, the MESU Program Coordinator, powerfully facilitated the kick-off, setting an energetic tone for the campaign.
This vital initiative gained significant support from a key partnership with the Baguio-Benguet Medical Association. Their collaboration creates a unified front against dengue, effectively blending local community health efforts with broader medical expertise to maximize the campaign’s reach and effectiveness.
The event commenced with inspiring messages from our Municipal Health Officer, Dr. Oliver P. Guadaรฑa, and resource speaker, Regional Entomologist Sir Alexander P. Baday. Both highlighted a crucial message: the fight against dengue extends beyond simply cleaning our surroundings. They passionately emphasized that ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐

The program was dynamically structured into two engaging parts: a lively Ukulele Contest and an energetic Mentitinulong Combo Band Contest. Learners from various barangays across Itogon were present, alongside dedicated working groups, all united by the common goal of raising awareness and fostering a dengue-free environment. This innovative approach harnesses the power of local talent and community spirit, turning a critical health message into a memorable and impactful experience for everyone.
