LGU Itogon was honored with the Beyond Compliant award during the 24th Gawad KALASAG Seal and Special Awards for Excellence in Disaster Reduction and Management and Humanitarian Assistance.
This recognition was conferred by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) at the National Awarding Ceremony for the Cordillera Administrative Region on December 17, 2024, in Baguio City.
Beyond Compliant is the highest award bestowed on Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Councils (LDRRMCs).
Itogon MDRRMC Chairperson, Mayor Bernard S. Waclin, and MDRRM Officer, Engr. Cyril L. Batcagan, received the plaque of recognition, which states: ” The Municipality of Itogon, Province of Benguet, is found to have exceeded the standards for the establishment and functionality of the LDRRMCs, as prescribed in the Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction Management Act of 2010 (RA No. 10121).”
