The Municipality of Itogon, under the leadership of Mayor Bernard S. Waclin and the Municipal Treasury Office headed by Irene F. Fernando, has been recognized as one of the top-performing municipalities in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) for fiscal year 2023.
Itogon secured 2nd place among 73 municipal local government units (LGUs) in CAR for the growth of its locally-sourced revenue. Additionally, Itogon also ranked 3rd in terms of the highest locally-sourced revenue collected in the region.
The awards were presented during the year-end celebration of the Bureau of Local Government Finance – Cordillera Administrative Region (BLGF-CAR) on December 17, 2024, in Baguio City.
Municipal Treasurer Irene F. Fernando highlighted that locally-sourced revenue is derived from real property taxes, business taxes, and various regulatory fees and charges.
Mayor Waclin expressed his gratitude and commended the collaborative efforts of municipal and barangay officials, employees, and the people of Itogon.
