LGU Itogon, led by Mayor Bernard S. Waclin, organized a fun run today, May 31, 2024, in celebration of World No Tobacco Day. The event was spearheaded by the Municipal Health Services Office (MHSO) under the guidance of Dr. Oliver Guadaña, with the theme “Protecting Children from Tobacco Industry Interference.”
The fun run was joined by 150 participants of all ages, who competed in 1.2, 3, and 5.8-kilometer races. The route spanned from the Municipal Grounds to Twin River in Poblacion.

Following the run, children engaged in a painting activity aimed at discouraging the use of tobacco products. This creative session was designed to empower the younger generation to resist tobacco industry influence. The event concluded with an energetic Zumba session, promoting fitness and well-being among the participants.
This initiative by the LGU highlights the community’s commitment to fostering a healthier environment and protecting future generations from the harmful effects of tobacco.
