A Malaysian delegation, led by Mayor of Miri City, Malaysia, Adam Yii Siew Sang, visited Mt. Camisong Forest Park and Events in Itogon on March 17, 2025, accompanied by La Trinidad Mayor Romeo K. Salda and guided by Itogon Mayor Bernard S. Waclin. The visit aimed to strengthen international relations and promote eco-tourism initiatives.

The delegation, which included Chief Councilor Hon. Leslie Lau Ik, Councilor Hon. Jamil Bin Bujang, and Councilor Hon. Lisa Yu Ley Ha, expressed keen interest in Itogon’s natural attractions. Mayor Waclin guided the tour, showcasing the scenic blend of pine forests and modern developments at Mt. Camisong.
Mayor Salda participated in discussions on sustainable tourism practices, while Mayor Waclin emphasized Itogon’s commitment to environmental oversight. The Malaysian officials commended the municipality’s efforts in promoting eco-tourism.
The visit ended with positive feedback from the delegation, who praised the warm hospitality and Itogon’s dedication to sustainable tourism.
