The Itogon Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) led a five-day Emergency Responders Training Course from June 3-7 at the Evacuation Center in Malasin, Ucab. Forty-four participants from various sectors attended the training.
Participants included members of the Barangay Health Workers, Barangay Peace and Action Team, students, volunteers, and youth representatives.
The program aimed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills to act as first responders to a variety of emergencies.
Trainees learned how to respond to fire incidents, medical emergencies, search and rescue operations, structural collapses, and other emergency situations.
Accredited training facilitators were members of the Itogon MDRRM council and Barangay DRRMCs.
Mayor Bernard S. Waclin commended the Itogon MDRRMO, led by Engr. Cyril Batcagan, for promoting disaster preparedness among the public. He also acknowledged the participants for their willingness to learn and active participation. The mayor expressed his commitment to support the disaster preparedness initiatives.
