During the construction of a gymnasium at Dalupirip Elementary School on June 26, 2024, a 250-pound unidentified explosive device was discovered buried during excavation.
Police Chief Master Sergeant Glenn Morris Cayat, team leader of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal & Canine Group (EOD K9), confirmed that the corroded ordnance was safely secured and is currently under their care.
At the Municipal Peace and Order Council (MPOC) quarterly meeting on June 28, 2024, PCMS Cayat appealed to the public to contact their hotline if they find any explosive devices.
