On May 28, 2024, representatives from the Bureau of Plant Industry (BPI) and the Department of Agriculture (DA) Cordillera gave a lecture to various Itogon farmers’ livelihood groups regarding proper farming practices.
Maria Arlene Celo of BPI-CAR and Judy Rose Bisoy of DA-CAR both served as resource persons during the information drive, where topics including plant pest management and the promotion of overall agricultural development of the farmers’ livelihood were discussed.
This information drive is part of the month-long celebration of the 1st Farmers’ and Fisherfolks Month in the municipality. Leading the activity is the Municipal Agriculture Office, headed by Berto Bayeng.
OIC Mayor Atty. Jodea Brendalyn Acay-Camuyot expressed her appreciation to all farmers who participated in the activity and to the facilitators from BPI and DA. She also acknowledged the efforts of the Municipal Agriculture Office for continuing to excel in uplifting the welfare of farmers and fisherfolk.
During the activity, the Bureau of Plant Industry Cordillera distributed assorted seeds and seedlings to the livelihood groups who attended.
