September 18, 2026 – The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) – Itogon has advised the public to be cautious of individuals reportedly going around Itogon in a gray van and allegedly using the name of the BFP while offering or selling fire extinguishers.
The BFP clarified that its personnel are not authorized to sell or recommend any particular brand of fire extinguisherto the public.
Residents and business establishments are advised to verify the identity and affiliation of anyone claiming to represent the BFP before making any purchase or transaction.
The public may report suspicious activities or individuals claiming to be BFP personnel to Poblacion Fire Station, Tuding Substation, or contact hotline: 09307932832.
