September 1, 2026 — Atty. Johnny L. Bumakil officially assumes today as the new head of the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) of Itogon.
Mayor Bernard S. Waclin appointed Bumakil to the position and administered his oath of office on August 12, 2026.
Bumakil succeeds Ms. Grace O. Pocsol, who retired on August 12 after more than 17 years of service as Itogon MSWDO department head.
Before joining LGU Itogon, Bumakil served as the Social Welfare and Development (SWAD) Team Leader of the Department of Social Welfare and Development–Cordillera Administrative Region (DSWD-CAR) in Mountain Province.
In his message, Bumakil pledged to continue delivering responsive and meaningful social welfare services to the people of Itogon. He also expressed his gratitude to Mayor Waclin for the trust and confidence given to him, emphasizing the principle that public service is a public trust.
“Aramidek ti kailangan nga aramiden,” Bumakil said, underscoring his commitment to fulfill the responsibilities entrusted to him.
