IN ITOGON | Personnel of the Itogon Municipal Police Station (MPS) in coordination with Barangay Officials, provided immediate assistance to residents affected by the continuous heavy rainfall in Sitio Beda, Barangay Loacan, Itogon, Benguet last night, August 30, 2026.
Police personnel ferried and assisted evacuees from the affected area to a designated evacuation center.
Through the concerted efforts of the Itogon MPS and Barangay Officials, all affected evacuees were safely evacuated to Loacan National High School, where they could seek temporary shelter and safety.
The evacuation was undertaken as a precautionary measure due to the continuous heavy rainfall brought about by the Southwest Monsoon, which may increase the risk of soil erosion, flooding, and other rain-induced hazards.
