Benguet Provincial Police Director POLICE COLONEL DIONISIO D BONOY presided over the turnover ceremony for the assumption of the new Officer-in-Charge of the Itogon Municipal Police Station on Friday at Balingway Hall, Municipal Hall, Poblacion, Itogon, Benguet.
The 31-year-old POLICE CAPTAIN BRETT ALLEN P ANDE has assumed the municipality’s top police post, succeeding outgoing Chief of Police POLICE MAJOR MAC KENLEY A MAYOMIS.
PMAJ Mayomis served as Itogon Chief of Police for two years.
In his message, he said, “It is a rare opportunity for a police officer to finish a two-year term in a police station.” He said that this achievement would not have been possible without the support of PD PCOL Bonoy, Mayor Bernard S. Waclin, the Sangguniang Bayan, the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMC) members, the barangay local government units of Itogon, and all the personnel of the Itogon Municipal Police Station.
“Our successes in maintaining a peaceful, orderly, and safe Itogon were not just about statistics. It was about ensuring that every citizen felt secure in their homes and on the streets, and that is a legacy we can all be proud of,” said PMAJ Mayomis.
A ceremonial signing of the Relinquishment of Office by PMAJ Mayomis and the Assumption of Office by PCPT Ande was conducted, followed by the ceremonial turnover of the Office Symbol and the Itogon Municipal Police Station Property Equipment Inventory Book, presided over by PCOL Bonoy.
Incoming OIC Chief of Police PCPT Ande lauded the efforts of PMAJ Mayomis.
“I did not come here to change what is already working well. Rather, I came here with a commitment to continue and strengthen your good policies, best practices, and initiatives,” said PCPT Ande.
“I pledge my unwavering support to the vision and development agenda of our Mayor, Bernard Waclin, as we continue working hard to ensure that Itogon remains a peaceful, orderly, and progressive municipality. I accept this responsibility not as a personal achievement, but as a commitment to serve with honor, humility, and excellence,” he added.
Mayor Waclin commended the service of PMAJ Mayomis and expressed confidence that PCPT Ande would continue the station’s good work. The mayor also pledged the continued support of the local government to the undertakings of the Itogon Municipal Police Station and expressed hope for a continuously peaceful municipality.
“Namnamaen yo dakami ditoy local government ket sumupsupporta kanyayo. Sapay kuma ditoy Itogon ket peaceful nga kanayon. No peaceful ket napintas nga pagyanan ken pagbiyagan.” [“Expect that we in the local government will continue to support you. We hope that Itogon will always remain peaceful to live in.”]
PD PCOL Bonoy likewise commended both the outgoing and incoming police commanders of the Itogon Municipal Police Station. He recognized PMAJ Mayomis for successfully completing his two-year term as Chief of Police and acknowledged the support of the local government unit in making this achievement possible.
“To all the personnel of the Itogon Municipal Police Station, let this change of leadership serve as a reminder that we are all part of a bigger mission—to protect lives, uphold justice, and keep the peace. Let us support our new leader with unity and continued commitment to service,” added PD PCOL Bonoy.
