July 14, 2026 — Newly commissioned Philippine Army 2LT Crius P. Wakit paid a courtesy visit to Mayor Bernard S. Waclin on Tuesday at the Municipal Hall, accompanied by his father, Roney L. Wakit.
The 27-year-old resident of Ducot, Ucab is the sole Itogonian in his batch of the Philippine Army Officer Candidate Course (OCC), which concluded with its graduation ceremony on July 4, 2026, in Capas, Tarlac.
A graduate of Bachelor of Science in Criminology, Wakit earned his commission after successfully completing the Philippine Army’s leadership and military training program for aspiring officers.
Mayor Waclin congratulated Wakit for bringing pride and honor to Itogon and recognized his dedication to serving the country.
Wakit also encouraged the youth of Itogon to pursue their goals and consider careers in public service, particularly in the military, as an opportunity to serve the nation and contribute to their communities.
