July 16, 2026 — LGU Itogon clarifies that the Itogon Educational Financial Assistance Program (IEFAP) 2026 is still in the final stage of beneficiary validation and selection.
Following the call for applications, published on May 5, the evaluation of applicants is still ongoing.
No official list of IEFAP beneficiaries has been released, and no payouts have been conducted under the IEFAP as of this date.
The LGU also clarifies that claims circulating on social media stating that some students have already received P6,000 under the IEFAP are false.
On July 8, 2026, the Department of Social Welfare and Development–Cordillera Administrative Region (DSWD-CAR) released P5,000 each to 174 qualified high school students under its own Educational Assistance Program. This program is not the same of the IEFAP administered by the Municipality of Itogon.
Of the DSWD-CAR beneficiaries, 84 students were endorsed from among applicants who were not accommodated in last year’s IEFAP, following validation by the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) to ensure that recipients were not already receiving other forms of educational financial assistance.
The official list of IEFAP 2026 beneficiaries will be published through official LGU Itogon communication platforms once the validation process has been completed.
