Mayor Bernard S. Waclin commended the Municipal Agriculture Office, headed by Berto O. Bayeng, and the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office, led by Gerard S. Cornel, for bringing honor to the municipality through their respective achievements.
Mayor Waclin said the agriculture award, despite Itogon being widely known as a mining municipality, is a testament to the efforts of the local government and the town’s farmers in promoting and strengthening the agriculture sector. He added that the recognition in residual waste management reflects the municipality’s continuing commitment to environmental protection and responsible waste disposal through the collective efforts of the LGU and the community.
He further urged both offices to continue strengthening agricultural and environmental programs and initiatives for the benefit of the people of Itogon.
