A council from the mining town of Itogon has earned the country’s highest recognition for local agricultural governance, underscoring how collaboration between farmers, fisherfolk, and the local government can strengthen rural development.
The Itogon Municipal Agricultural and Fisheries Council (IMAFC) was named the Most Outstanding Agricultural and Fisheries Council (AFC) among all municipal and city AFCs nationwide during the 51st Gawad Saka Awards held Monday at the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay City, according to the Itogon Public Information Office.
