June 1, 2026 — The Municipal Government of Itogon, led by Mayor Bernard S. Waclin, through the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO) headed by Gerard S. Cornel, will celebrate Environment Month 2026 this June with a series of activities promoting environmental awareness, conservation, and community participation.
With the theme “United for Nature: A Month of Environmental Festivity in Itogon,” MENRO has lined up various activities aimed at strengthening environmental stewardship and encouraging residents to take an active role in protecting Itogon’s natural resources.
Among the highlights are the Itogon Green Link Public Service Caravan, Agroforestry Trade Week, and Green Growth Expo from June 9 to 11, featuring environmental services, agroforestry products, and innovative waste diversion displays that showcase how recyclable materials can be transformed into useful products.
Several Communication, Education, and Public Awareness activities are also scheduled throughout the month, covering topics such as solid waste management, environmental conservation, forest land use planning, and responsible environmental practices for various sectors of the community.
A Tree Planting Activity will be held on June 25 in Anuvang, Tinongdan, while the celebration will culminate with a Closing and Awarding Ceremony on June 30 at the Municipal Gymnasium.
Through the observance, MENRO hopes to inspire greater environmental responsibility and foster a stronger culture of environmental protection among Itogon residents.
