June 19, 2026 – Philex Mining Corporation–Padcal Mine led the ceremonial turnover of assistance for Barangay Ampucao’s Child Development Centers (CDCs) and Child Development Workers (CDWs) at the Barangay Hall on Wednesday.
As part of the assistance, the mining company turned over indoor and outdoor play facilities worth P10,000 each to the barangay’s nine Child Development Centers. Ten Child Development Workers also received their annual financial incentive of P3,000 each.
According to Philex Community Relations personnel Ferlyn Caslangan, the turnover marks the third consecutive year of support for Ampucao’s Child Development Centers and Workers through the company’s Social Development and Management Program (SDMP). This year’s initiative carries the theme, “Empowering our CDWs, enriching our CDCs, and building a brighter future for every child in Barangay Ampucao.”
One Child Development Worker shared that the new toys and play equipment are expected to encourage more three- and four-year-old children to regularly attend classes. The worker added that the materials will also help teach important values such as sharing, cooperation, and patience.
Barangay Kagawad Jayson Amuasen and Barangay Secretary Ma. Ligaya Nalibsan expressed their gratitude to Philex for its continued support of the barangay’s early childhood care and development programs.
Also present to witness the turnover were Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officer Grace Pocsol, Municipal Local Government Operations Officer Julie Malig, and Mayor’s Office personnel Jemima Waclin.
