June 18, 2026 – A total of 986 eligible farmers and fisherfolk in Itogon received cash assistance today through a payout facilitated by the Department of Agriculture – Regional Field Office Cordillera (DA-RFO-CAR) at the Municipal Gymnasium, Poblacion, Itogon.
The assistance is part of the Presidential Assistance to Farmers and Fisherfolk Program (PAFFP). Each qualified beneficiary received P2,325 in cash aid.
According to LGU Itogon Agriculturist II Marjorie Casilla, the program aims to help cushion the impact of the ongoing fuel crisis, which has significantly affected the operational costs of farmers, particularly in the use of agricultural machinery, irrigation pumps, and other farm equipment.
Casilla also noted that eligible beneficiaries include rice, corn, and sugarcane farmers registered under the Registry System for Basic Sectors in Agriculture (RSBSA), as well as fisherfolk registered under Boat Registration (BoatR).
The RSBSA and BoatR are official databases of the Department of Agriculture that serve as national registry systems for farmers and fisherfolk.
