The Municipality of Itogon secured top honors at the 11th National Agricultural and Fishery Council (AFC) Volunteers Day, a national recognition program led by the Department of Agriculture through the Philippine Agricultural and Fishery Council (PAFC).
Mayor Bernard S. Waclin, IMAFC Chairperson Romeo D. Casilla, Municipal Agriculture Office (MAGRO) Head Berto O. Bayeng, Agriculturist Marlou K. Daliling, and Councilors Lucky B. Busacay and Norberto I. Pacio formally received the awards on March 27, 2026, in Pasay City.
The Itogon Municipal Agricultural and Fishery Council (IMAFC), led by Chairperson Romeo D. Casilla, was recognized as 2nd Place – Most Outstanding Executive Committee. The award underscores the council’s active role in strengthening collaboration between the local government and the agriculture and fisheries sectors.
The IMAFC continues to serve as a vital platform for farmers and fisherfolk, enabling them to raise concerns, contribute to policy discussions, and help shape programs that support the municipality’s agricultural development. As a local advisory body, the MAFC facilitates coordination, policy review, program planning, and evaluation of agriculture and fisheries initiatives at the municipal level.
The Municipal Government of Itogon, under the leadership of Mayor Waclin, was also awarded 3rd Place – Most Supportive Municipal LGU for its strong support in advancing MAFC advocacies. This recognition reflects the LGU’s sustained efforts to empower local agricultural stakeholders through responsive programs, technical assistance, and institutional support.
Meanwhile, Marlou K. Daliling of the Itogon Municipal Agriculture Office was named 1st Runner-Up – Outstanding MAFC Secretariat-Coordinator, in recognition of his dedication and efficiency in coordinating council operations and initiatives.
