The foot bridge improvement at Sitio Baguio Gold in Tuding, Itogon, Benguet started last September 12, 2025, a project under the Municipal budget in accordance with the 70% Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Fund (LDRRMF) 2025. The project aims to improve the residents’ passage and to facilitate the transport of agricultural products across the bridge. The Local Government Unit (LGU), headed by Mayor Bernard S. Waclin along with the local residents are working together to complete the bridge repair efficiently.
According to the Project Monitoring Committee (PMC), the project was originally targeted for completion in November 2025. However, due to lack of manpower, the implementation was delayed. Despite the delays, the construction work continued. Furthermore, the rehabilitation includes a wider bridge, concreted pathway, and stronger tower foundations to ensure safer access, especially for residents and farmers.
