February 10, 2026 — The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Benguet 1st District Engineering Office has implemented official window hours for motorists traveling along the Baguio–Itogon Road, particularly in the vicinity of Sitio Goldfield, Barangay Poblacion, Itogon.
Under the traffic scheme, the road will be open daily to vehicles except during the following closure periods: 9:00 AM to 12:00 noon and 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. These scheduled closures are being enforced to ensure public safety while ongoing conditions in the area are being closely monitored.
Motorists are further advised that the road will be automatically closed in the event of rainfall as a precautionary measure to prevent accidents and ensure the safety of commuters.
DPWH Benguet 1st DEO, in coordination with the Itogon Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) and the Barangay Poblacion DRRM Council, has conducted regular road monitoring in the area. Advisory notices have also been posted in strategic locations, including Twin River Junction, Ucab Junction, and Loacan Junction, to properly inform the public.
The public is urged to plan their travel accordingly and remain cautious when passing through Goldfield, Poblacion.
