December 18, 2025 — Students from Ampucao National High School (ANHS) paid a courtesy visit to Mayor Bernard S. Waclin as they presented their plaques and medals from their outstanding performances in the recently concluded Benguet Schools Division Press Conference (SDPC) and the Benguet Provincial Athletic Meet.
ANHS campus journalists ranked first and were named overall Best-Performing Secondary School among 74 participating schools during the SDPC held in Kapangan from December 10 to 12, 2025.
The school’s official publications also excelled, with Libuo placing third as Best School Paper in Filipino and Ampucao Gazette ranking fourth as Best School Paper in English among 57 entries.
ANHS students topped several competition categories, including Collaborative Desktop Publishing in both English and Filipino, Editorial Cartooning (Filipino), Mobile Journalism, Radio Broadcasting and Scriptwriting (Filipino), and TV Broadcasting (Filipino).
In sports, ANHS athletes also brought pride to the school after bagging the championship title in Girls’ 3×3 Basketball during the Benguet Provincial Athletic Meet.
The delegation was accompanied by their School Head George Api-it and teacher-coaches Forline Claire Pasadillo, Phoebe Pis-oy, and Jubal Abilang.
Mayor Waclin commended the students for their achievements. He emphasized that the students’ victories serve as an inspiration to the youth of Itogon to pursue excellence in both academics and sports, and to bring honor to their community through dedication and hard work.
Both the ANHS campus journalists and athletes are set to represent Benguet in the upcoming Regional Schools Press Conference (RSPC) and the Cordillera Administrative Region Athletic Association (CARAA) Meet in 2026.
